Our Farm Tale

We started our hobby farm in 2015 with just a handful of chickens—six  purchased from our local Tractor Supply and several rescued from a local  shelter. Our flock eventually grew to about 30 hens along with four  trusted roosters. After reading an article about miniature chickens used  for tabletop show competitions, we purchased a pair from the original  Malaysian chicken breeder in Louisiana. Lisa quickly fell in love with these chickens, often bringing them inside. They enjoy nestling and  sleeping on your lap, and they also love car rides and human companionship. This passion led us to breed them, selling chicks locally and offering hatching eggs.

Later, we rescued a few alpacas, some of whom came from our veterinarian's practice. The alpacas are fun, docile, and produce impressive fiber, which we began selling as finished products. Peafowl, pheasants, and  ducks were the next additions. Peafowl are truly beautiful; we can sit  for hours watching the males fan their tails. We have successfully  incubated their chicks, and a few have remained on our farm. We also  brought a mom and baby donkey to our farm, and after a veterinary visit,  we learned the mom was pregnant. Now we have three gals: Luna, Rain, and Blaze.

Our latest additions are our  Patagonian Cavies. Raised by hand with bottle-feeding every four hours,  they have become fun pets who frequently get "the zoomies" in the 1,700  sq. ft. enclosure they share with the Peafowl and Silkies. You never  know what we will add next, so keep following us for our next pet  adventure!
